Rapid Application Development With CakePHP ReviewI bought this book for the kindle. I would not say that it is formatted with the Kindle in mind, but it is readable. Screenshots are too small to see.
The material covered is really the basic highlights for CakePHP. I have several books, and this author does not dive very deep into the code or the reasons why he is doing certain things. The author does conform to the standards, which are important for CakePHP and explains these well. The author assumes the reader has a firm understanding of PHP and OOP.
In spite of the shortcomings, I would have to say this is a nice quick reference to have handy on your Kindle. If you want to know more about the nuts and bolts of CakePHP and have more time to read a longer book, check out the book from PackIT.
I gave the book four stars. It is a quick read, does not cost much and the Author (who is clearly experienced in the technology) gives several important insights into programming with CakePHP that I have not read in other texts.Rapid Application Development With CakePHP Overview
