A Baker's Dozen: 13 Quilts from Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and More (That Patchwork Place) ReviewAnother well-written book from That Patchwork Place! I admit to succumbing to the temptation to purchase a couple of those Jelly rolls -- but haven't quite figured out what I wanted to do with them. Until Now!!! I now have a whole selection of wonderful patterns! I love that the authors have also included a "stash option" that provides cutting requirements from yardage -- that was a really thoughtful feature that allows the patterns to be used in ways other than if you have those pretty little "rolls" or "cakes". The directions are well written with well-thought out graphics to support the text. The book is cohesive and clear -- which is important when there are so many quilt designers represented!!! I also like the fact that there's a small bio and photos of each of the designers!! It's fun to pick out a favorite pattern (Scrappy Hunter's Star in my case) and then go look up the bio and see what Regina Girard really looks like! It makes it so much more personal.
