Supermarket & Pastry Shop Design ReviewIf you are looking to buy a book of contemporary Supermarket & Pastry Shop design of which you'd like to get ideas for your shop in the United States or Western Europe, then this book is not for you. The Shops in this book have too many colors and objects to distract you from the products the shop wants you to buy. The designer of the shops over saturates the eyes and leaves you confused. There is not enough use of white, and the lighting of the shops does not complement the design in any way. The illuminated lights in the shop have a reddish filter which is normally only used for displaying meats.Supermarket & Pastry Shop Design Overview

The Business Coach (Instant Success) (Instant Success Series) ReviewI purchased two of the series because its high ratings. Then when I went back and read the review again, I found an very interesting pattern. That is, all the reviewers who give 4's or 5's to the series are the same people. What is more, when you see their review history, you will find that they only have reviews for the series only. What a coincidence!
I am not implying the author or his company fake the rating. I am just pointing out the fact for yourself to decide. And I think amazon should definitively take action to investigate this kind of activities. I lose faith in amazon's rating system because of this incident.

Fabulous Food Shops (Interior Angles) ReviewThere have been a lot of design books looking at boutique fashion retailing, bars, restaurants and hotels in recent years, but so far there has not been very much written about the design aspects of gourmet food retailing. This is quite an omission when you consider the increasingly elaborate, sophisticated and beautiful methods by which food is being marketed.
This book looks at some of those techniques by which food is being presented to consumers as a lifestyle serving suggestion. The book uses a good cross-section of global case studies and is highlighted by great photographs. Narrowing down the case studies must have been a very difficult task but I think Peyton has finished up with a good mix of small and large scale shops.
You will enjoy this book if you have an interest in retail design or if you just enjoy browsing gourmet food shops. It'd also make a great gift for that hard-to-buy-for foodie friend or relative.
My only "complaint" is that I would have liked to have seen even more - the KaDeWe food hall in Berlin, the Ostermalm Saluhall in Stockholm, jonesthegrocer or the Sydney Fish Markets in Sydney, Prahran Market in Melbourne, City Super in Hong Kong, Cordurouy + Finch in Singapore, Stockmanns in Tallinn - there are certainly enough options for a Fabulous Food Shops Volume 2!Fabulous Food Shops (Interior Angles) Overview
